A memory from a boat trip through the islands off the capital of Mozambique.

In the distance, along a narrow stretch of land, a family of fishermen moves together, saluting from afar — their gestures small, yet full of presence against the vastness surrounding them. The scene unfolds on the horizon, where land, water, and sky meet, and where light softens the figures into silhouettes.

Through loose marks of paint and charcoal, I sought to depict that quiet exchange — a moment of simple human recognition and connection, shared across space.
